Creating supply chain transparency in manufacturing

## Transcript X-TIMESTAMP-MAP=LOCAL:00:00:00.000,MPEGTS:0 [MUSIC PLAYING] Hello, everyone. My name is Tom Davasia. And welcome to today's session on creating supply chain transparency in manufacturing. We are very excited you have joined us for the session. And we love to talk to you about how we ServiceNow and Deloitte are collaborating to meet the needs of our manufacturers and improving their engagement with their supply chain. First, a quick round of introductions. Again, my name is Tom. And I focus on the partner ecosystem for us in manufacturing industries. I've been at ServiceNow for the last six months. For the last 25 years at the intersection of enterprise applications and manufacturing industries. And with, me we have John. Yeah, hi Tom. My name is John Dougherty. I'm the head of manufacturing for industry's Go-To-Market here in the Americas at ServiceNow. And I have 26 years of experience in all different types of industries, including industrial manufacturing, automotive, consumer packaged goods, and high tech. And Tim Riesenberg from Deloitte. Hi, my name is Tim. I'm director with Deloitte. I'm working for Deloitte for 13 years now. And I'm leading the German ServiceNow practice. Thank you. So as we start, let's take a couple of quick minutes and share with you how ServiceNow is building out solutions and capabilities to address the needs of you, our clients in manufacturing. As you can see here, we are looking through the critical areas that you consider for your competitive advantage as you consider developing the capabilities to engage with your customers. So these are some of the critical areas we look at. And what you see here is the use cases and the successes that we have had with our customers and partners across these domains in the manufacturing lines of business. And specifically, the topic today will cover this area here in the supply collaboration and partner management use cases. With that, I'm going to pass it on to John. Yeah, thanks Tom. A lot of the companies we're meeting with today and going forward, two topics are bubbling to the top over and over. Transparency and agility are the two critical component or critical competitive advantages manufacturers are striving for today. And some of the highlights that they're looking to address are improve supply chain efficiency and resiliency. They want to have more sustainable sourcing and build that into their supply chain operations. They want to have better risk response to disruptions to the supply chain. Also what they're looking for in doing this is they're looking to have detailed backup information in case they have to go back to their suppliers with any claims. And then the other big piece they're trying to do out of all of this is they're trying to sustain this to become market leaders in their industry. Tim, I'm going to throw it over to you to comment a little bit more on this topic also. Yes, so from Deloitte, we did a transport Management survey. And there we seen that over 60% of our clients use more than three technology platforms to manage their connected supply chain. So that leads definitely in a very heterogeneous system landscape. And when we use ServiceNow, especially in some client situations, we see that we can improve about 40% of the data quality through the partner management on the one hand. And on the other hand, to improve about 10% of the delivery performance for the partner and supplier management. So using ServiceNow will enable us to ease the ServiceNow supply chain platforms. Let's move on and have a look on to the Deloitte connected supply chain control tower solution. As I mentioned, we analyzed the transport management systems. And we've seen a tremendous lag for the Service management piece within this transport management systems. That's why we put ServiceNow on top in order to manage the supplies, the logistic carriers, and the plans within the supply chain network. And then in our solution, we have, for example, using or managing about 4,000 suppliers, we could definitely improve the quality management for the partners and suppliers here. We could definitely improve the tracking within the supply chain partners and see a long term efficiency improvement. And we are using functionalities out of ServiceNow like performance analytics and continued improvement to optimize the supply chain processes behind. Here, you can see just a quick look. And as we are getting all this information out of the transport management platform, we can analyze patterns. Failure patterns can analyze an efficiency gains. And really see improvement levels. And that's what I'd like to show you right now in the datas how we are doing that in action. Here, you can see also ServiceNow connected supply chain solution. And when I now click, for example, on the breakdown. So that's analytic sample, all of ServiceNow. So that's really out of the box, thank you. That's the reverse of uses. Then I can click on the dedicated failure types, for example, and select a failure type. It's a specific pattern. And now I see a failure type which comes out of the transport management system. And as a good advisor, I see, Oh, there's room for improvement. And it can add up and measure the-- for example, analyze that pattern and create a new approval initiative. And now, ServiceNow opened up standardly a new improvment initiative. And the good news are that all of the selection I've done before is automatically generated within that improvement initiative. So now, I can call the partner, so the supplier or transport management carrier here, and ask him, OK, let's define some target values or target review dates. And let's organize that improvement management in a professional manner. And later on, I will see the improvement results right in that improvement initiative due to the fact, we are getting real time information out of the transport management systems. So what's the Deloitte market to you? We analyze existing transport management systems in the market based on our transport management system contests. And we've seen a lot of typical functionalities of these transport management systems. We did an enterprise architecture round and seen where all the improvement levels here were. What's missing? And to be honest, there's one important part, it's the service management. It's sort of direct connection between dashboards and improvement measurements. So as I can open up improvement measures, I will be able to process real-time events for carrier, suppliers, and, for example, of automotive OEMs. Or on the other hand, I can directly automate workflows behind. For example, to enable new suppliers. To enable you to assist the carriers. Or we can analyze their status, find performance analytics failure patterns and leverage the analytics functionalities out of ServiceNow. All in all, it's really a perfect combination between existing transport management systems putting ServiceNow as an overlay for the Service management piece. So what's the big picture? What's our Deloitte vision? On the one hand, of course, we do have these transport management systems. Then we are using ServiceNow, especially for the connected supply chain management. But on the left, on the right, there are even more processes around which needs to be managed. Like the 360 controller tower view to enable supplier management, end to end performance management, or on the other side, the supply chain optimization. As we do have all the data right now in ServiceNow, we can analyze the dynamic transportation route optimization, for example. And there are many more use cases to optimize these supply chain processes around. From the Deloitte expertise. On the one hand, we do have deep business insights, how to optimize supply chain business processes. How to optimize supply chain partners logistics put behind us. And on the other hand, we know how to optimize systems and put our products on the ServiceNow on top of this transport management systems and connect them to two other legacy and client [INAUDIBLE] systems. That's really the perfect combination to optimize logistic processes, especially supply chain processes. Thank you very much. Thank you, Tim and John. So in conclusion, we wanted to share with you how ServiceNow and Deloitte are collaborating to meet the needs of your manufacturing customers to improve engagement with your suppliers. We hope this was a value to you. And we'll talk soon. [MUSIC PLAYING]
