The new release (July to September store) for ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management brings meaningful upgrades across AI, project execution, demand management, and governance. Here are the highlights worth knowing.

• MCP for SPM
  SPM data now seamlessly now integrates where your teams already work — ask questions about your portfolio directly in AI clients like Claude or Copilot, with the same ServiceNow governance and audit trail enforced. No more tab-switching just to answer a status question.
• Hybrid Project Management (PWS + CWM)
  Project managers govern in Project Workspace while team members execute in Collaborative Work Management — and every update syncs automatically in real time. Both personas stay in their preferred environment without losing a single status update.
• Demand Management Enhancements
  Financial grids, AI summarization, duplicate detection, and a self-serve requester tracker are now all built into the demand workspace — giving every stakeholder from requester to portfolio manager the context they need without chasing anyone for updates.
• RIDAC Improvements
  Risks, issues, decisions, actions, and change requests each get their own tab with inline editing, and RIDAC visibility now extends across the full delivery hierarchy — from projects all the way to epics, features, and iterations.
• Programs in SPW
  Legacy program users now get a direct entry point into Strategic Planning Workspace, with a portfolio plan auto-created for each existing program. Transition happens at your own pace, with no all-at-once migration required.
